Vulcan District held it’s annual BALOO training on Saturday, May 3 at Shades Valley Lutheran Church in Homewood. 33 leaders and parents from Vulcan and other districts attended this event.

BALOO, also known as Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, is a one-day training event that introduces parents and leaders to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. BALOO is also important because you must have one BALOO trained adult attending a pack overnighter. Most units have multiple trained leaders in case one is sick and an event won’t have to be canceled.

Thanks to all our volunteers who turned out to lead this event and thanks to all those that showed up. The next Vulcan BALOO training is this time next year. If you our your unit need this training contact another district to find out when they will have training.
