Cub Scout Day Camp

Vulcan – Cherokee District
Cub Scout Day Camp
June 25-29, 2018

NEW TIME! All camps are from 4:00 to 8:30 in the evening!

Cub Scout Day Camp is fun and adventure with a purpose.

The Greater Alabama Council offers a Day Camp program and a Twilight Camp (for boys entering the Arrow of Light or 5th Grade in the fall) at Oak Mountain State Park one week during June. Day Camp and Twilight Camp runs from 4:00 – 8:30 in the evening. The camp activities are thematic, and the themes change every year. The camp is under the supervision of trained leadership and seasonal staff members. The camp is evaluated annually to insure that the National Standards set by the Boy Scouts of America for the operation of Cub Scout Day Camp are being upheld.

What we do

The program provides fun and adventure in an outdoor setting. Emphasis is placed on new experiences difficult to obtain in the usual indoor den meeting atmosphere. Day Camp relies on the volunteer participation of adult Den and Pack leaders. The daytime outdoor program could include field sports, nature, shooting sports, songs, skits, crafts and scout skills. The main focus of Day Camp is on Cub Scout achievements, electives, and Webelos activities as they relate to the outdoor program. Participation in Day Camp can help your pack achieve the National Summertime Pack Award. Twilight Camp offers a program centered on skills needed as the boys get ready to cross-over and become members of a Boy Scout Troop.
