Vulcan District Pinewood Derby
2020 Vulcan District Pinewood Derby
The Shelby and Vulcan Districts are combining to have a great day of Pinewood Derby Racing.
Date: April 4, 2020
Place: Food Court Area of The Riverchase Galleria
Cost: $7.00 per racer
Racer Check In: 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Races Begin at:
- 11:30 am – Webelos and Arrow of Lights combined
- 12:00 pm – Bears
- 12:30 pm – Wolves
- 1:30 pm – Lions and Tigers combined
• We will not start the rank races earlier than the time listed above, however, if the prior race runs a little long, we will begin as soon as the previous race ends.
• All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place division racers from unit races are eligible to race in the Shelby District Pinewood Derby. If your unit had a separate race for Lions and Tigers and also a separate race for Webelos and AOL’s, then all 6 that placed would qualify for the District race but would race together at the district and council races.
• All Trophy’s will be presented immediately after the divisional races to both Shelby and Vulcan District
• We will register with the respective district but will combine the districts to race. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each district and the winning times will go towards the overall champion.
• Unit Leaders please send your 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (and alternates) of your pack Pinewood Derby to john.elliott@scouting.org. Please include the District, Unit, Rank, Pack PWD Place, Name of Racer, and email address. Remember you can have 3 Lions and 3 Tigers and they will race together. The same applies to Webelos and Arrow of Lights who can have 3 in each rank but will race together.
